France Canada Research Fund 2016 [fr]

The France-Canada Research Fund (FCRF) acts to promote and develop Franco-Canadian scientific and academic exchanges of excellence in every field of research.

It is designed to support new collaborative scientific efforts involving young researchers.

The FCRF was created in 2000 through an agreement between the Embassy of France in Canada and a consortium of 16 Canadian Universities, both English and French speaking. 20 Universities are now part of the consortium, also the company Total .

The Fund is jointly chaired by Ms. Mona Nemer, Vice President, Research, at the University of Ottawa, and Mr. Jacques Samarut, Professor at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon.

The FCRF offers two programs:

The New Scientific Collaboration Support Program

This program provides funding for new scientific collaboration between French and Canadian research teams.

The grants available range in value from $8,000 to $15,000, depending on the requirements presented by project managers. It may be possible to obtain additional funding beyond FCRF funds.

The Joint PhD Program

This program, launched in 2010 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the FCRF, promotes the development of joint PhD programs, or cotutelles.

This program involves a scholarship to be awarded to a Canadian student registered in a cotutelle program in France, as well as a cotutelle award to be offered for the best submitted thesis in 2015.

This program’s call for proposals will be open on December 1st, 2015. Application form will be to download on this page on December 1st, 2015
