Residence Program at Cité Internationale des Arts – Paris [fr]
(2nd session – for stays in the second semester of 2012 and the first semester of 2013)
The Institut Français makes 10 studio-flats available to the cultural network at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris to host emerging international artists (in all artistic and literary disciplines) who are interested in developing a specific project in Paris.
The length of stay is set at three months per resident. As a result, each year, 40 international artists are able to benefit from this system. The conditions of stay are as follow:
Responsibilities of the artist: return transportation. Cost of visas and repatriation insurance. Monthly living allowance
A consultative commission, chaired by the director of the Institut Français, made up of sector project managers of the Institut Français, a representative of the network, and a representative of the department will examine all applications.
In addition to evaluating the candidate’s professional career, particular attention will be given to the quality of the project, its ties to the French capital, the originality of the planned work method and the possibility of dialogue with French organizations.
The advising organization must support the candidate and clearly communicate how they plan to promote the selected artist upon their return.
The application deadline for the first session is March 23, 2012.

The City of Paris – Cultural Affairs – and the Institut Français offer a residence program at the Récollets International Centre, in five studios. The program is aimed at experienced artists and writers in all disciplines (visual arts – performance arts – literature), who already have professional experience internationally and who would like to develop a specific project in Paris.
The length of stay per resident is set at three consecutive months. Each year, 20 selected artists are able to participate. The conditions of stay are as follow:
Responsibilities of the City of Paris: renting the studio.
Responsibilities of the Institut Français: an allowance of 1,500 euros per month, or 4,500 euros over the course of the residence.
Responsibilities of the artist: return transportation, cost of visas and repatriation insurance.
A consultative commission, co-chaired by the director of the Institut Français and the director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Paris, and made up of representatives of the Institut Français, the City of Paris, cultural stakeholders in Paris, a representative of the department as well as a representative of the network will examine all applications.
In addition to evaluating the candidate’s professional career, particular attention will be given to the support for project from a partner organization in Paris.
