Vis-à-vis Architecture [fr]

When France and Canada Connect Architects

September 21st – November 30th, 2012

10 French architects, 8 Canadian cities: the dialogue continues!

JPEG Organized by the Embassy of France in Canada and the Institut Français, in collaboration with the General Consulates of France in Moncton, Québec, Toronto, Vancouver and with local architecture schools, Vis-à-vis Architecture aims not only to showcase the diversity of expertise, culture, and architectural practices in France and in Canada, but also to establish rich dialogue between the key architectural players in our two countries.

For the first edition of Vis-à-vis Architecture (2011), we decided to explore the concept of the “sustainable city” through the practices of six internationally-renowned French architects who came to Canada to meet some of their Canadian colleagues.

For this new edition of Vis-à-vis Architecture, we wanted to focus our exchanges as closely as possible on the urban planning issues faced by the project’s partner cities.

From September 21st to November 30th, 2012,
ten French urban planning experts will cross Canada, stopping to take part
in discussions to be held in Halifax, Quebec City, Montreal,
Ottawa, Toronto, Waterloo, Winnipeg, and Vancouver.

This year’s guests include Patrick Norguet, Jean-Christophe Quinton, 1024 Architecture, Emmanuel Combarel, Tania Concko, Dominique Alba, Bernadette Blanchon, François Migeon, Henri Bava, Frédéric Bonnet (obras architectes).

In Ottawa on October 22nd
